Flow Triggers

Flows can be started in several ways depending on how the project is configured. This section covers all supported trigger methods.

  • Running Flows within your Connector UI — Trigger a flow from within a connected CRM or ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE or SugarCRM.

    • Using Dynamics 365 Workflows — Start flows automatically from Dynamics 365 CE background workflows using the Start Flow and Flow Output workflow steps.

  • Trigger Smart Flows from Power Platform — Use a Power Automate HTTP trigger to launch a flow and pass data back to Dynamics without user intervention.

  • Using API — Trigger flows programmatically via the Smart Flows REST API.
